I brew and I’m going to tell you about it, with pictures. Primarily I make beer. Beer-like substances, anyway–as a brewing ape I like to forget the stuff I’ve learned and just do whatever seems like a good idea at the time. A (very) quick note on terminology: the brewing ape doesn’t like to fuss too much about categories of things, so the brews I’m talking about will be categorized based on their primary fermentable ingredient.

Like so!

Grain: beer

Fruit: wine

Honey: mead

@#$%@#: brew

And that’s pretty much that. There are some things that straddle categories (barleywine! melomel! freestyle! and is sake really a beer?) so there’s that nice all-purpose “brew” category that keeps the ape from getting distracted, which is important, because she’d really rather be brewing and telling you about it.
